The actor Kingsley Ben-Adir, who has recent roles in Barbie and Secret Invasion, plays the lead in the new film Bob Marley: One Love. Coming to theaters on Feb. 14, this powerful movie shows Marley's ability to overcome adversity while delving into his revolutionary musical journey.

Ben-Adir spoke with ET about how he prepared for the Bob Marley role while on the Barbie film set.

"On film sets, there's a lot of time downtime... it just made sense to go and listen to Bob and try to understand the language and learn the guitar," he said. He also mentioned that he kept this preparation hidden from his castmates, "My process was private for as long as possible — until I needed help."

Ziggy Marley, Bob Marley's son, spoke with ET's Kevin Frazier about the upcoming film.

"For me, in this film, I think one thing that it made me think about is what my father and my mother went through that we didn't see," Ziggy said, "Like the emotional [turmoil], and that's what the film is really. It's really exploring stuff," he explained. "The Bob Marley that's in the TV and that you seen in the videos — that's not the Bob Marley we're really exploring. We're exploring the Bob Marley you don't know."
